LET YOURSELF BLOSSOM.

Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in a pattern of self-doubt and wondering if we will ever find our way out of it. I specialize in helping others find their voice again after a hard relationship, transition, childhood. I want you to leave my space feeling more connected to yourself, and more confident in what is to come.

self confidence

starts here.

It's all about perspective.

Through my experience counseling, I have found we often feel stuck in our lives  when we have overwhelming emotions clouding our perspective. I've often likened this experience to feeling trapped in a box and desperately wanting out, yet not knowing how. Sometimes the answer feels so obvious to an outsider who can view the situation from a different perspective without all of the overwhelming emotions you're experiencing.

So why not just talk to a friend or family member?  Friends and family members can be great to talk to about our problems. However, sometimes it is embarrassing or feels shameful to confide in someone close. They also might have an agenda or vested interest in your decisions which aren't best for YOU. When you enter counseling with me, you are officially in a confidential, judge-free zone where you can feel safe enough to open up because the goal is 100% about YOU feeling better about YOU.

stop arguing
START LOVING.

EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) is an approach to couples therapy rooted in over 20 years of research in adult love, attachment, and marital distress. Studies show that 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and about 90% experience significant improvement.

Utilizing emotionally-focused therapeutic techniques, I can help uncover patterns that lead to fighting and defensiveness, while developing new ways of relating and communicating. I create a safe place where each person feels respected as we heal past hurts and strengthen your connection as a couple. Our mutual goal will be for each partner to feel seen, heard, known, and understood.

TAKE BACK

YOUR LIFE.

On my journey to becoming a therapist I also became a wife, and a mother. The trials and tribulations of these roles can be daunting, and rewarding. However, some of the mothers and wives that have entered into my practice have been faced with additional challenges through abuse they've encountered. The abuse they've experienced did not leave physical bruises or scars, but deeper cuts into their hearts, their minds, and their personality.

If you are trying to dig your way out of the darkness that accompanies emotional and mental abuse I would consider it an honor to walk with you on the journey to finding your joy and light once again.

"For me, counseling with Amy is by far the best money I've ever spent on myself. I take care of my physical health and I realized I needed to take care of my mental health, too. Amy has taught me to live my life in harmony regardless of any situation going on around me. She is very comfortable and easy to talk to.  She has a very soft aura about herself, which for me is calming. Most importantly she has provided me with anxiety techniques and coping skills."

"Amy is a kind, compassionate, and insightful person who listens well and gets right to the crux of the matter with you. Through her use of EMDR I was finally able to come to terms with a negative self image. She gently navigates you through past trauma to 'rethink' and 'rewire' it. She's pretty amazing!"

"Despite my skepticism regarding counseling, Amy was able to help me overcome my personal hardships. In addition to her professional help, Amy was also an incredibly accommodating and friendly confidant who did her job with class. For this, I can only express genuine gratitude and respect for her."

Everyone has something that they are naturally good at-a gifting given to them by God. Amy's gifting is her genuine love and compassion for people. I started seeing her in May of 2016 when I was in deep deep turmoil emotionally and spiritually. I had never see a counselor before but I knew this was how it was supposed to be. She was so patient and gentle with me. She let me unleash my pain ,fears and questions on her and didn't flinch. She was a safe place for me to fall. She listened, guided, challenged and encouraged me. It may sound cliche, but it was an experience that truly changed my life. So much so that I eventually brought my husband with me. He was apprehensive also, since he had never seen a counselor either. Immediately from the first few minutes, she knew how to dissolve his defensives and make him feel safe (just like I knew she would!). No kidding-even just today, we referenced things that we learned from Amy about communicating with each other. She's the best!!
